Vitamine K2, aangeboden door Douglas Laboratories, levert een aanzienlijke hoeveelheid biologisch actief vitamine K in de vorm van menaquinone-7 (MK-7). Douglas Labs vitamine K2 als menaquinone-7 is soja-vrij en afgeleid van geraniol en farnesol. Geraniol is het primaire deel van roos olie, palmarosa olie en citronella olie. Farnesol is aanwezig in veel essentiële oliën zoals citronella, citroengras, roos en muskus. Deze natuur-identieke vorm van menaquinone-7 is uitgebreid getest voor moleculaire identiteit en de biologische equivalentie in vergelijking met menaquinone-7 van gefermenteerde SOJABONEN(SOJA) (natto). Het is de all-trans vorm, waardoor het een pure, biologisch actieve vorm is.
Vitamine K2 kan wellicht een nuttig voedingssupplement zijn voor personen die hun inname van vitamine K willen verhogen.
